The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office will be holding two events on April 22 and April 29 to celebrate World IP Day and this year’s theme of “Reach for the Gold: IP and Sports.” The first event, to be held from 11:00 am to noon on April 22 at the USPTO headquarters, will be “A conversation with Shawn Springs,” in which former professional football player and entrepreneur Shawn Springs and Deputy Director of the USPTO Laura Peter will discuss Mr. Spring’s company Windpact, which uses his patented Crash Cloud technology in football helmets to protect players from severe head injuries….
